1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of zavecutlery.shop and any purchase you make from us. By browsing this site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The store is operated by Zave Cutlery, 63 Burrow Road, Preston, PR1 6JU, United Kingdom.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the site.
2. AGE RESTRICTION — IMPORTANT
**You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase any bladed product from Zave Cutlery.**
It is a criminal offence in the United Kingdom to sell a knife or bladed article to a person under 18. Equivalent restrictions apply in many US states, in Canada, and in other jurisdictions we ship to.
By placing an order for a knife, cutlery set, or any other bladed item, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction, if higher)
- The item is for your own lawful use or as a lawful gift to another adult
- You will not resell or supply the item to anyone under 18
We may ask you to verify your age before we dispatch. Deliveries of bladed items may require an adult signature and photo ID on receipt. **We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order where age cannot be verified.**
3. Products
We do everything we can to display our products accurately, but colours, Damascus patterning, grain and finish vary between screens and between individual pieces. Because our items are handcrafted, **no two pieces are identical**, and natural variation in the steel pattern and wood grain is a feature of the product, not a defect.
Product descriptions, weights and dimensions are approximate. "Damascus-style" describes the visual finish of the steel where specified in the product title.
4. Pricing and Payment
- All prices are shown in **US Dollars (USD)** unless stated otherwise.
- Prices may change at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
- Displayed "regular" prices reflect our standard non-promotional list price for the item.
- Payment is taken in full at checkout. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.
- Your order is not accepted until we send you a dispatch confirmation. Receiving an order confirmation email does not by itself form a contract.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including where a product is listed at an incorrect price, is out of stock, or where we suspect fraud or a breach of these Terms. If we cancel, we refund you in full.
5. Availability
Stock levels shown on the site are indicative. Where an item sells out after you order, we will contact you promptly with the option of a restock date, a substitute, or a full refund.
6. Shipping and Delivery
Shipping terms are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: orders are processed within 1–3 business days, with estimated delivery of 7–14 business days to the United States and 10–21 business days internationally.
Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
7. Customs, Duties and Taxes
International orders may attract customs charges, import duties, handling fees or local taxes imposed by the destination country. **These are the responsibility of the customer** and are not included in the price you pay at checkout.
Some countries restrict or prohibit the import of bladed articles. It is your responsibility to check your local laws before ordering. Orders seized, refused or destroyed by customs because of local restrictions are not refundable.
8. Returns and Refunds
Our Refund & Returns Policy forms part of these Terms and sets out your cancellation and return rights in full.
9. Safe Use and Liability
Our products are sharp tools intended for culinary and dining use by adults.
- Keep all bladed items out of reach of children.
- Use knives only for their intended purpose, on an appropriate surface.
- Hand wash and dry immediately. Damascus and high-carbon steel will stain or corrode if left wet or put through a dishwasher — damage from dishwasher use is not covered.
- Store blades guarded, in a block, or on a magnetic strip.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zave Cutlery is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from misuse, unsafe storage, modification, or use of a product for any purpose other than that for which it was designed.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Warranty
We warrant that our products are free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery. This warranty does not cover normal wear, rust or staining from improper care, chipping from cutting bone or frozen food, damage from dishwasher use, dropping, sharpening errors, or any modification.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent consumer protection law are unaffected.
11. Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the site to:
- Breach any applicable law or regulation
- Transmit malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with the site's operation
- Scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data
- Post unlawful, abusive, defamatory or misleading content
- Place fraudulent orders or orders intended for resale to minors
13. Intellectual Property
All content on this site — including the Zave Cutlery name and logo, product photography, product descriptions, page copy, and design — is owned by or licensed to Zave Cutlery and protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not reproduce, distribute or use it commercially without our written permission.
14. Reviews and User Content
If you submit a review, photo or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display and reproduce it in connection with our business. You confirm the content is yours to share and does not infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.
15. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to third-party sites and platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or practices.
16. Errors and Omissions
We work to keep the site accurate, but content may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or out-of-date information. We reserve the right to correct errors and to update information at any time without prior notice.
17. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, customs delays, natural disaster, industrial action, or failure of utilities or telecommunications.

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The version in force at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you locally.
