Craft you can feel in the hand

A knife is the one tool in a kitchen you touch every single day. It should feel like it was made for you — balanced, sharp, and beautiful enough to leave out on the counter. That conviction is why Zave Cutlery exists.

We started in 2025 with a simple frustration: the cutlery available to most home cooks was either cheap and forgettable, or priced for restaurant kitchens and impossible to justify. There was very little in between that felt genuinely special without being absurd. So we set out to make it.

How our pieces are made

Every Zave piece is forged by hand by skilled smiths in [REGION], using techniques that have been refined over generations. Damascus steel is made by layering and folding steel over and over, then forge-welding it under heat. The flowing, water-like pattern you see on the blade isn't printed or etched on — it's the actual structure of the metal, revealed.

Because of that process, no two Zave blades are identical. The pattern on your knife exists on exactly one knife in the world. We think that's the point.

Handles are turned from walnut, rosewood and other hardwoods, each one chosen for grain and then fitted, shaped and finished by hand. Bolsters are set for balance, not decoration. A knife that sits right in your grip is a knife you'll actually reach for.

What we make

Our range covers the full table. Chef's knife sets for people who cook seriously. Complete 20-piece flatware collections for the dining room. Steak knife sets that turn a Sunday roast into an occasion. Hand-carved wooden serving pieces. And gift sets that arrive in presentation boxes worth keeping.

Whether you're outfitting a first kitchen or looking for a wedding present that won't be forgotten in a year, there's something here built to outlast the occasion.

Built to be used

We'd rather our knives got scratched from years of real cooking than sat pristine in a drawer. These are tools, and they're made to take work.

That said, Damascus and high-carbon steel need a little respect. Hand wash, dry straight away, and never put them through a dishwasher. Store them guarded or on a magnetic strip. Look after a Zave piece properly and it will outlive the kitchen you bought it for.

Gifting

A large share of what we send out goes to someone other than the buyer — weddings, housewarmings, retirements, the friend who has genuinely earned a better knife. Our gift sets ship in presentation boxes designed to be opened in front of people, and we're happy to help you pick the right piece if you're not sure. Just email us.

Our promise

We stand behind everything we send out. If a piece arrives damaged or isn't right, we'll replace it or refund you — details are in our Refund & Returns Policy. If you have a question before you buy, we'd genuinely rather answer it than have you order the wrong thing.

We're a small operation. When you email us, a person reads it.
